Club La Santa
The place where the sun always shines is, of course, the Danish-owned sports resort on the Canary Island of Lanzarote. We have designed a new website with a sun-kissed visual identity, user-tested it thoroughly, and, last but not least, created a smooth booking flow that provides a great user experience before, during, and after.
Challenge: Club La Santa had a complex and confusing website with poorly navigated content and a non-intuitive booking flow, which made it difficult for users to find information and complete bookings across markets and screen sizes.
"Prepare for takeoff"
We began the journey by testing the website at the time on 18 selected individuals. These included athletes, families, retirees, and young people, as well as both previous guests and potential new guests.
The previous website was characterized by pages that had grown in all directions. We therefore knew that we needed to clean up the sitemap. The tests gave us clarity on which elements were must-haves on the new website.
It looks simple, but behind the attractive facade lies a lot of design work. Club La Santa is one of those websites with a large sitemap. Here, all flows are designed for all screen sizes and down to the smallest detail, so they are as sharp as the sun in Lanzarote. If we did a burpee for every page, we would be in top shape by the time we finished. We'll have to test that out another time!
ATMOSPHERE BEFORE, DURING, AND AFTER
Not only did we test the website, we also tested the brand's reputation and asked the test subjects to describe what they associated with Club La Santa. The most important thing was to find a new visual identity. It needed a makeover so that guests could picture themselves at the resort and feel the atmosphere. That's why the website is now filled with exotic colors and interactive elements that make it shine as brightly as the sun.
FROM CLICK TO HOLIDAY
We wanted to ensure that the new website worked across markets, nationalities, and cultural and linguistic differences. Booking flights and hotels therefore required complex scenario thinking, considering the many possible outcomes, in order to create the most intuitive flow.
The goal was to make it super easy to book a sports vacation you'll never forget. Last but not least, we tested the finished website on nine end users to make sure it lived up to expectations.
“To design our new website for Club La Santa, we wanted to find a partner who was 100% user-oriented and at the same time had their finger on the pulse in terms of current trends and needs. We chose KOLLAB (formerly /et al.), whose energetic, curious, and investigative approach blew us away from the start.
Throughout our collaboration, KOLLAB has delivered rock-solid work. From the initial meetings to project planning, user involvement, and delivery of a complete design. They have guided and challenged us, while also being responsive and showing great understanding and respect for our company, brand, and guests. We are extremely pleased with the result.
So, a big thank you to KOLLAB for the great collaboration and our highest recommendations!”
