Club La Santa

Where the sun always shines is of course at the Danish-owned sports resort on the Canary Island of Lanzarote. We have designed a new website with a sun-kissed visual identity, user-tested so that it blares, and not least created a delicious booking flow that provides a good user experience both before, during and after.   

Challenge: Club La Santa had a complex and unmanageable website with poorly navigated content and a non-intuitive booking flow that made it difficult for users to find information and complete booking across markets and screen sizes.

"PREPARE FOR TAKEOFF"

We began the journey by testing the then website of 18 selected people. Among these were athletes, families, pensioners and young people as well as both former guests and potential new guests.

The website at the time was characterized by the fact that the pages had grown in all possible directions. We therefore knew that we should have cleaned out the sitemap. The tests gave us clarification on which elements were must haves on the new website.

It looks simple, but behind the beautiful facade hides the design work of many pages. Club La Santa is one of the websites that has a large sitemap. Here, all flows are designed for all screen sizes and down to the smallest detail, so that they stand as brightly as the sun in Lanzarote. If we did a burpee for each side, we'd be in top shape when we were done. We'll have to test that another time!

MOOD BEFORE, DURING AND AFTER

Not only did we test on the website, we also tested the brand's reputation and asked the test subjects to put into words what they associated with Club La Santa. The absolutely essential thing was to find a new visual identity. It had to have a makeover so that the guests felt they could both see themselves at the resort and feel the atmosphere. Therefore, the website is now full of exotic colors and interactive elements that make it shine with the sun.

FROM CLICK TO HOLIDAY

We wanted to ensure that the new website worked across markets, nationalities, as well as cultural and linguistic differences. Booking by plane and hotel therefore required a complex round of scenario thinking, of the many possible outcomes, to create the most intuitive flow.

The goal was to make it easy as a breeze to book a sports holiday that you will never forget. Last but not least, we tested the finished website on 9 end users to make sure it lived up to expectations.
