When 6,000 temporary workers have to be matched with companies every single day, it requires a system that just works. JKS is Denmark's leading temp and recruitment company and handles thousands of hourly and salary registrations daily. This places high demands on both precision, ease of use and digital structure.

In collaboration with JKS, we have over several years developed and further developed a complete digital ecosystem which ties all parts of the business together – from the temporary workers on the floor to the customers in the companies and consultants in JKS.

Challenge: JKS struggled with an aging and impractical time tracking system that was difficult to use for both temporary workers and customers and did not fit into the new digital system landscape. It hampered precision, ease of use and efficiency in their daily operations. Therefore, the system had to be modernized and simplified into a mobile-focused solution that ensures correct registration and better workflow for all users.

A SYSTEM ON TIME

When you make a living selling time, it is of course crucial that you have complete control over it. Both how much time has been spent, but also who has spent the time, and not least what the time has been spent on. At JKS, they had worked with the same time registration system for years. The system, which had been expanded several times, no longer worked optimally. Customers found it difficult to log in and difficult to create an overview.

The system therefore had to be rewritten so that it became simple to use for the individual temporary worker, but at the same time fit into the new system landscape that was under development at JKS.  This was just a task for our developers, where the result was a reliable and user-friendly mobile app, which through GPS data and sensors ensures high data quality in the individual registration.

With the new time registration solution, it is not only JKS’ employees who have got a more user-friendly solution. The solution also gives temporary workers the opportunity to easily check in via an app on their mobile phones and thus start time recording. The solution, which was previously web-based, now runs as a mobile solution at the temporary worker. This makes it easy for temporary workers to change their registration area, and for companies to get precise registrations to work with when temporary hours have to be invoiced internally.

“It simply has to be correct. We need to have a system that works 100 percent safely and efficiently – and which users think is easy to use,” says Søren Ingemann, deputy director at JKS. We can probably say that the solution has been a game changer when it can now succeed in handling the 6,000 salary payments without hassle.

A living solution

The project does not stop here. The collaboration between our developers, designers and JKS’'s own specialists continues to push the boundaries of what the system can do. New functions are continuously tested and rolled out, always with end users at the center.

It is a partnership that has not only digitized a complex business – but has simplified and refined the way people, data and processes play together.

“Once you have started digitizing, new ideas and wishes for things and processes that you want to make smarter constantly arise. It may sound a bit cliche, but we think we are on the way to a digital transformation. Both customers and temporary workers have been very active and signed up with suggestions and new ideas”
