Saxo Bank
Saxo Bank wanted a learning platform that could lift both internal training courses and courses for employees and customers. Today, more than 1,700 employees complete courses in trading and Saxo Bank's own systems. In collaboration with KOLLAB, they have been given a tailored Moodle e-learning setup that reflects the vision of a modern, motivating and effective learning environment.
Challenge: Saxo Bank had developed extensive training content, but the existing e-learning solution was technically limiting, difficult to further develop and lacked interactivity, making it difficult to engage employees and ensure effective knowledge sharing across the organization.
A motivating learning platform
Before KOLLAB joined the collaboration, Saxo Bank was stuck:
”When I joined, the partners at the time hadn't really gotten anywhere. The whole learning project was dry and boring, and it took a very big step to go from the then starting point to the fulfillment of our vision”, narrates Nicholas James Whiting, Creative Director and Global Vice President at Saxo Bank.
Therefore, the task of transforming a dry and stagnant learning platform into modern and engaging. It required thoroughness and cooperation with KOLLAB before the vision could be realized.
Together, an involving and inspiring learning experience was created that takes into account that no student is the same. Therefore, educational videos were integrated which adapt to the context of each student, regardless of the medium they use.
As part of the solution, KOLLAB developed the technological infrastructure for Saxo Bank's Trading Academy. The two Moodle sites were configured and integrated with Saxo Bank's existing Single Sign-On solution, based on ADFS, so users can log in with their existing Saxo Bank account.
On the Moodle side, PHP SimpleSAML was used for the integration towards ADFS, which ensured a smooth and secure user experience.
An honest business partner
To achieve the goal, KOLLAB has adapted the appearance, functionality and ease of use of Moodle, so that the platform reflects Saxo Bank's vision and ambitions.
Saxo Bank prepared a roadmap for the vision, where they could subsequently clap their hands at how ideas and notes have been translated into a living and intuitive learning system.
The solution is powered by Amazon Web Services (AWS): one of the most recognized cloud infrastructures on the market, ensuring high performance, stability and scalability.
In addition, KOLLAB handles hosting and application support for the two Moodle sites, including 24/7 support with a one-hour response time.
The solution is continuously monitored by KOLLAB, so that operational stability and safety are guaranteed, completely in line with Saxo Bank's requirements for quality and compliance.
The work process has been characterized by close dialogue, patience and mutual understanding. Saxo Bank has had high expectations and clear requirements, and KOLLAB has met them with solutions that actually combine technology, design and ease of use. Whenever new opportunities have emerged, they have been seized and the challenges solved along the way.
The cooperation between the two parties is experienced as informal, simple and positive. Saxo Bank wanted a close and honest relationship with their business partner and that is exactly what they got.
Agility is the way forward
Saxo Bank is a publicly regulated Danish bank specializing in online trading and investments across global financial markets.
With that position comes a natural focus on quality, security and business partners who can match the bank's pace and level of ambition:
”We demand enormous agility and flexibility, we want to experiment all the time, we push our business partners hard and demand a lot from them. And KOLLAB understands that and delivers”, concludes Nicholas James Whiting.
