OmniGraph
Two men. An idea. No time. With technology at its peak and vision in place, OmniGraph was missing the most important thing: the hands to bring their AI platform to life. Jumpstart delivered exactly that and much more.
Challenge: OmniGraph lacked specialized development resources to translate their AI-based concept into a finished and scalable product, slowing both product development and time-to-market in a crucial phase.
Start-up without HR department
Imagine this: You have just launched an AI startup that helps webshops grow by optimizing their content, strengthening SEO and improving inventory management through data
The technology is in place. The potential is great. The ambition is clear.
But you stand only two men tall. No HR. No recruitment machine. And zero extra hands. This is what reality looked like for OmniGraph as they transitioned from internal innovation in the Ecco shoe chain to standalone tech startup. For Janus Jerver Asmussen, CEO and co-founder, there was no doubt what was missing:
“We had everything but crew. And when you're a small business without an HR setup, traditional recruitment just isn't an option. It takes too long and you drown in irrelevant applications.”
Jumpstart: Recruitment as it should be
KOLLAB's Jumpstart program entered the scene: a model tailored for companies that need sharp, newly qualified tech talent, but neither the time nor the resources to find them themselves.
For OmniGraph, Jumpstart became not just the solution, but a shortcut to making the idea a reality.
“It was a fast and targeted process with no noise at all. We were presented with candidates who did not just have the technical knowledge. They also had the energy and desire to help build something from scratch,” explains Janus Jerver Asmussen.
Just weeks after the first contact, OmniGraph had two candidates running. Both with relevant study experience in data science and machine learning and with a setting that fit perfectly into a young startup environment.
A PLATFORM TAKES SHAPE AND PACE
The effect was not long in coming. In just a few months, OmniGraph went from sketches and prototypes to a production-ready AI tool. The two Jumpstart candidates played leading roles in the work, and their contributions could be felt from day one – Janus Jerver Asmussen elaborates:
“It almost sounds too good to be true, but it is not: we would not have been where we are today without them. It is quite clear. They have created real value from the start.”
It wasn't just about code and models. It was about people who thrived in the framework and who quickly translated theory into practice. The two candidates:
- Matched technically and socially
- Worked independently and took ownership
- Significantly raised productivity
Test period turned into team reinforcement
The Jumpstart model is based on flexibility: Half a year's course, where both company and candidate can get to know each other without committing.
At OmniGraph and Janus Jerver Asmussen, it wasn't long before the decision was ready:
“They just had to stay. It was obvious. And the transition was completely smooth. The framework, wage expectations and all the practicalities were already under control.”
The transparency meant that neither financial surprises nor expectations gaps arose. And the two candidates could continue their development: now as full members of the team.
Talents are worth their weight in gold
Jumpstart also changed the view of OmniGraph and Janus Jerver Asmussen on what young candidates can do:
“There is a myth that hiring seniors is safer. But that is actually not always the case. Seniors often have technological debts and habits that don't match our way of working.”
The new graduates came without luggage and with an openness and curiosity that made them easy to train in the company's own technologies and methods. The result was higher productivity, better cooperation and fewer resources spent on reprogramming old habits.
THE IMPORTANCE OF JUMP START
For Janus and OmniGraph, there is no doubt what Jumpstart has meant:
- They saved time: both on recruitment and training
- They got relevant, motivated candidates quickly
- They could build and scale their product without compromising on quality
“We actually got two strong employees in without having to spend months finding them. It's hard to find something that works better when you're a small tech company with big ambitions,” elaborates the young CEO.
And for other companies facing the same challenges, he has a final recommendation: “Just do it. If you want to move forward quickly – and with the right people – then Jumpstart is a really recommendable way to get started.”
